Maeve never knew what happened when she travel through the tree; all she did feel was lightness and being very happy with herself. When she felt all together again, Maeve opens her eyes to see white bark instead of the black she was touching before. The tree was the same one as the black one but was white and had a fall head of green leaves, which was made brighter because of all the white. She turned to look behind her and found herself standing in the shadow of the library house. Now and then a group of people would walk by talking or reading books but no one notes her standing there next to the tree. She started to make her way to the door less enters when she heard someone calling her name.“Maeve? Maeve, wait up!” the voice made her stop and turn to face him as he came up to her.“Hello Alex, how has it been going?” she smile as he came to a stop in front of her.“Fine thanks,” he took a moment to get his breath back.Maeve had met Alex long a go and had been good friends ever since a little trouble they got into. Alex looked about 20 and had blond hair and very green eyes. He was also just a little bit taller than her and had the same pale skin as everyone else. He looked down now smiling as he remembered the past they had together and how much he liked her. However he knew long ago it would never happen.“So what brings you back, I can’t remember when you last did – and that is saying something!”“I’ve come across something and need to discuss it with the White Council” Alex’s eyes widen in sprise, “is it that important? Well, you have to wait because they’re already had their monthly meeting. Are you going to be the one to break that?” his tone of voice was very serious with no hint of him normal hummer. It made Maeve think for a second, that seed of doubt but she push it a side. “It is that important. I can’t tell you now you’ll have to wait; so…will you help me?”She watch as Alex was fighting a mind battle but one side won quickly. He looked up at her and let out a sige, “you will need to talk to the High Lord; he will be the one to call the council…if it is that important”“It is, don’t worry about that. Well we better go and see him now, don’t you think?” and she started a head of him.“God it was always her fault that we get into trouble,” and he started after her. There were four main houses, all different in sizes. All were white because the colour white had a strong magical power; it was why all the cloths they wore were white. However it was murder tying to keep them clean. The house that they enter was the library house and was the second biggest of all four but it didn’t just hold books, it was also the place where the High Lord could be found and where meetings were held. There were five floors, which the library had the first four with many rooms fill with books. The council rooms were on the top fifth floor, for which they were heading for now.“So what do you do now then?” Maeve asked Alex as they made their way down the long wooden corridor. Now and then they would past a painting or two; some would be a fall painting of someone or just a landmark.“Well, I work in this library. I’m the assistant to the Head Librarian, and had been for the past twenty years. And you would know that if you ever came back here,” he opened the door for her which lead to some stairs.“You know what I’ve been up to those; I couldn’t just come back.”“Well a letter could have been nice you know. Just so I knew you were still with us. Oh I forgot to ask-” he stopped to look at her, “however are you copping with the pasting on of Mark.” Alex voice had change to be softer at the mention of her old master’s name.“I’m fine about it,” and she carried on walking. Maeve wasn’t sure how she felt about it. She had been to busy to think about anything, first with Ashley and then everything else that had happened afterwards. What did she feel about it? She was still asking herself the question when she looked up to find herself in front of a harsh looking door. “Here we go then,” whispered Alex as he gave a firm knock at the door.

this is the first in a 2 part chapter (i think), enjoy.
A few days pasted since Maeve had first talked to Ashley. She was always close to her; well it wasn’t like she had anything else better to do. Well she needed to be close incase anything was going to kick off. However what did happen was to be a surprise that she hadn’t had in years; Ashley had be telling truth. Maeve was sitting on a wall just across the road from the house that Ashley lived in. It was a nice little home, very much the same one she used to live in. Ashley couldn’t see her because Maeve had put a cloaking spell over herself so she wouldn’t be seen.Maeve smile at herself; she was know as the most skilled Lord to this day, well in this line of work. There are higher Lords who had greater power but no one knew what they did or what they called themselves; they were that secretive and rarely seen.“Well, it’s not likely they do anything. What have they done for us?” Maeve’s face hardens at the thought but soon soften as she remembered what her old master, and friend would have said if he was still around. “We don’t need to know everything that happens, for when it’s not for us to know.” However it didn’t stop her from thinking that it was people like her who have safe this world over a thousands times, and what thanks do we get? She was still in a grave mood when Ashley came out of the house with a young man, what Maeve believed to be her brother. However what got Maeve’s attention was the fact that they were arguing with each other.“How can this be? She is dead, for god’s sake, it’s in the book!” with that she jumped off the wall and vanish in to the air. The skill to move from one place to the other is hard to do and not just any Lord can do it. Maeve could remember her first time she did the skill; standing in a golden grass field, close to autumn, trying to see and feel in her minds eye the area she wanted to be in. She had found it hard, at first; for she was very nervous and kept losing her place she wanted to be in. On her third go, however, she did it and had been the only to do so for a long time. At this Maeve smile which lessened as she remembers how long ago that was. When she finely opens her eyes she was standing in the forest that she took Ashley to. The forest was very close to May Cliffs, walking distance in fact but walking is too slow when you have powers. Maeve now looked up at the tree that stood in front of her. It only had a few yellowing leaves on its finger like branches, waving lightly in the cold sea wind. The tree it self was old, very old, and grew in the centre of the forest, where the tree were big and grew close to getter. Its bark was very black and strong to survive the age of the world. No one knows how old this tree was or who planted it there in the first place.Maeve walk up to it and place a hand on to the dark ruff surface of the bark and let her will in to the tree. Light shone around her until it was blinding and then it was gone, with no one standing there at all.

“Well, there is also this,” and with that a wall of fire was made in front of Ashley, cutting Sky off from her. At the same time a hand was on her shoulder making her feel cold and very light, then a scene of moment. Very far off she was sure that she heard someone cry out in anger and then she was standing on soft ground but not for long and ended up sitting feeling very dizzy. When she look up it was to be looking into the pale face of that girl she saw a cross the road.“What just happened?” she was very close to tears, “Who were those people?”The stranger just looked at her; she had never done this before.“Let me started from the beginning, Ashley,” she smiled, “I’m Maeve and I am now your guide for your new life”“What do you mean?”“Well, I don’t know how to tell you but… you are dead.” Silence was met with these words. Ashley’s face holed no emotion, how was she meant to act but wait…“I can’t be; I was just talking to my mum this morning and on the drive to school. How could I have done that if I am dead?”Maeve couldn’t answer her and she felt that it would be better not to say anything. If she tried to correct her she would properly run and would end up in a worst situation like she was back at school.“Well, ok what are you meant to be then?” this was Ashley again. “I am one of many destiny lords; we are like caretakers of destiny picking up people like you who get through the net. You saw yourself before you die didn’t you?” “Mmm, yeah sort of but I didn’t die, I remember before that car hit me and just got out of the way,”“Yeah, whatever,” Maeve was beginning to get really piss off with her. “Well if you are so sure that you’re still a life I’ll take you home,” and she reach out and grab her arm. The next time she opened her eyes they were stating out side of her house.“How do you do that?” It was staring to make her feel sick. “It’s all part of the patches; you will see. Now if you ever need me just say my name, ok” and then she was gone. She shouted out “God sake, I wish people would stop doing that,” and turned to see the neighbour looking at her.“Aren’t you meant to be at school?” He was about 70 and classed as the weirdo of the street.“No, it’s a day off,” and turned to go into the house.

Chapter 4
The drive to school was complete silence. This was weird for however tired her mum was, she always loved to hear all the things she been up to. Then Mrs Whitemoor missed the turning that would take her up to school and Ashley found herself shouting to be heard. When they finery got to school, she was 5 minuets within the bell, however she liked to sit on the bench for a bit before being imprisoned. She saw many of her friends were here but none of them saw her even if they did look her way, it was as if she wasn’t there. Now she was sitting down on the bench. It was very old and had a memory plate on it. The person it was remembering died in 1901 but the name had been rusted away only leaving the last name of the child; … it just showed how old the school really was.All of a sudden, the bell rang out calling to all the students of years, although Ashley didn’t move. A group of people were walking towards her but something told her that they weren’t going to ask were the entrance was. They all looked very different to each other. One was dressed in simple work cloths when another one was in a very expensive looking dress. The group was made up of five people, three men and two women all of different ages. “Hello there,” this was said by the light voice of the woman in the dress; she looked to be in her 20 and was very pretty. “Don’t worry we are just going to talk but you have to come with us first. Then we will tell you what’s happening, ok?”“I don’t think so. Why on earth would I go with you?” Ashley made a move to get up. “Fine, we’ll have to do it the hard way,” and at that a great force pined her back to the bench, making her gasp for breath. How did that happen? One of the men smiles, “I thought you said that this would be hard to do, Sky.” He soon lost the smile when he was flying through the air and went in to the wall. His neck was at a weird angle and every one was watching him when he vanished. However there was no puff of smoke like in Charmed or Buffy, they just fade away, but Ashley wasn’t really thinking about this at the time.“I was wondering when you would show, we all know how much you love this place,” the one called Sky said this to someone out of Ashley sight. “Well you know how much I love these get-to-gathers but I am very busy and must be going” and at that the group of people were thrown back. However, sky was ready and was still standing smiling. “Oh is that all you can do”

chapter 3
“Ashley! Your breakfast is really so hurry up and get down here,” a voice was heard from the stair.“Ok, mum, I will be down in a minuet,” Ashley rolled her eyes at her mother who always called up the stairs at the same time in the morning to make sure that she was up and ready for the day a head. However after the near accident at school, she now droved her and her older bother to the school, to much of the older brother protest. “For god sake mum, I am 19; I can look after my safe. Just because she can’t look up and down the bloody road, doesn’t mean I’m going to get run over” “There is no need to swear Jo! Anyway I might as well take you both if I am taking Ashley to the same school.”Well just another day in the Whitemoor house, smiled Ashley. She was about to go out her door when she turn to look in the mirror; she looked paler than she normally did, with her thick curly red hair and deep green eyes, her skin was a white sheet. It was such a shock; she look like the ghost she should be if that car had hit her. She felt very cold and ran from the room; it didn’t feel like her room, her own space anymore.Down stairs in the kitchen her brother sat shouering in his food, as if he didn’t eat it now it would be gone, and reading his best car magazine he had just brought yesterday. He was totally different in looks to Ashley; he had brown hair and light blue eyes which at some times seen very wised but Jo could be a complete asshole when he wanted to be. However when he ever was, she could always bring up the fact that he still hadn’t passed his driving test yet. He never really talked much to her, mostly only when he wanted something, which wasn’t often.Mrs Whitemoor enters the room digging into her handbag in her left hand and carrying a pair of shoes in the other. “Oh, there you are. Ok hurry up and get ready or you all will be late, and we can’t have that now can now.”“Well I’ll see you later then,” Jo’s eyes were still glued to his page.“What do you mean?” she looked like she was going to give in to her son wishes, just to have a peaceful morning. Mrs Whitemoor was not a morning person for all the coffee in the world; she was still asleep.“Well just be careful ok.” She turns to look at Ashley, “right ready? Ok let’s get going,” and went out the door. “But… Mum I haven’t had any… oh what’s the point,” and she turn to follow her out the door. Out side the weather was cold with the frost on the ground making the grass gronch with every footstep she took. It never snowed here just because of the salty air so all they did get was the frost that killed the plants or sleet that would make the roads killer to drive on; another reason why very body hated May Cliffs.Ashley turn to open the car door, however something, too white to be, court her eye; a young girl was standing across the road. She was tall, had long black hair and wore weird clothing of something like a white robe. The girl smile and nodded in answer; I am real!Ashley looked back to the car; if she wasn’t careful her mum would drive off with out her. She is that bad in the morning. So Ashley quickly jumps in, not looking back to the ghostly figure in the street.*“God, she still thinks she's alive. I really hate ones like these, always harder to catch,” the girl’s voice was barely a wispier, as she watches the blue 5 year old car go down the road with the red head in it. Her pale face crease in a frown, “however, I think so…” She pulled out a thick book, bound by dark leather ties with an old design on the front, from under her cloak. She opens the black ties, which made her hands look white as paper, and flicker through the pages until she found what she was after. There written on the yellow age pages in strong black ink was Ashley.“Ashley Whitemoor, age 16 – dies 15th November by a car out side of school. Time – 3.30pm.” After confirming her thoughts, she closes the book and fades into the cold air.Ashley was now sitting outside of school, waiting for the bell.“Bloody typical, she just has to go in to school,” the young girl signed heavily. She hated schools, it wasn’t because of having to go or the boring teachers and the horrible work but something happened to her a long time ago and she didn’t wish to enter another school ever again. So instead, she was now sitting in a tree just opposite from the school watching Ashley. All of a sudden, the bell rang but that wasn’t what the pale girl’s attention was forces on. “Shit!” She watch in horror as a group of people walk towards Ashley.

chapter 2
The rising sun started to wake the sleepy town of May Cliffs. It was a fairly new town, only a hundred years old compared to the older towns nearby. There are a few shops and a primary school, however the older children have to take a half an hour bus to the neighbouring town. All the 17 and under hated May Cliff for there was never anything to do, only if you had a car to drive out of it. Ashley couldn’t wait until she was 17. She felt that she just didn’t belong in the small quite town next to the sea. She was lying on her bed for she had waked at sun rise and just couldn’t get back to sleep. It was like someone ringing a bell in her ear, now she just couldn’t sleep and instead just let her mind wonder.Last week had been the weirdest week ever, for Ashley had nearly died. They had told her that if she wasn’t so quick she would have been hit by the stolen car. However that wasn’t what worried her; she saw it happening right in front of her eyes. She had been sitting in English, worrying about when it would be her turn to read from the book, when the whiteboard started to fade out and be replaced with the road out front of school. The school buses were all line up with children of all ages getting on. Ashley blink many times but still the vision remained, she also turned to look at her friends but they couldn’t see what she was seeing. She looked back, shocked at seeing now herself walking across the grass, brought her full attention on to it now. She was walking closer to the buses seeing were it was; it was across the road. She step into the road and-‘Ashley! It is your turn to read now,’ the English teacher wasn’t the only one to be looking at her now. She looked back at the board; there was nothing there. It was at that point that she couldn’t remember what she was seeing, and started to read from the book.It wasn’t till she was crossing the road, later that day, did she remember what she had saw and forces herself to fall back on to the curb, just in time before the car came flying by and crashing into the wall at the end of the road. He died instantly they said and told her that she was very lucky. They kept asking her how she moved so quickly but she knew better than to tell them the truth. It was surely a weird week. ‘Beee! Beee!’ Ashley jump from hearing her alarm clock and got out of bed to get ready for school.

‘Beee! Chapter 1, Part 1
The sea was very carm for this time of year. It had been known to reach the very top of the cliffs and giving pass byers a light coating of salty water. However, this winter the sea lord was being kind and giving the eroding cliffs a brake. The ocean’s colour of inky blue was given a light dusting of silver from the commanding Moon.In the far distant, an old church chime out its one hour message into the empty night sky; met by the thousands of stars. Only one person was near enough to hear the last 12th chime, however she never heard it at all; it was the last thing on her mind. Unlike everything around her, she seems to radiate her own bluely white glow, increase by her white clothing and pale face. Her untied black hair was left to be lightly frown in the cold breezes which also carried the fine mist she breath out. Her eyes match the colour of the ocean but that was not what she seeing. She never moved, not even to shiver from the bitter cold of the night. All she was doing was waiting…waiting. The Moon slowly crawled across the sky and still she waited. It wasn’t till an hour before sunrise that she turned away from the sea to face the new comer that slowly climbs the hill. It was easier to see him because the sky was starting to show its lights blues and picky yellow; it was going to be a lovely day. ‘You have been out here all night haven’t you? Even those you knew I would only come one hour before darwn’, the old man stood in front of her and smile. ‘I know but I needed to think for a bit, that’s all’ her voice was light but strong not showing the emotions that fort inside her. ‘You know what you have to do, the next one has shown her self and it is your task to help her.’ He was dress in the same way as her and had the same paled skin and looked around 50 however she knew he was a lot older than that. ‘What happens now?’ she had some idea from what she had heard from others but she didn’t know what to say instead.‘Let’s not talk of that for now, I only have ten minuets left.’ He was quite for a bit but then said, ‘Even those I never had children in my own life, I would have thought them to be a bit like you. I am very proud of you.’She couldn’t help it now as the very first of thousands of tears started to fall. ‘i will never forget you,’ and then she was hugging him. She could feel the warmth of the sun on her back and nearly fell forwards, just seeing the last of his eyes until he was no longer there.
